Blu Bay Hotel, Sozopol, Bulgaria
Ancient Sozopol, with its
charming old town of meandering cobbled streets and pretty wooden houses,
huddled together on a narrow peninsula, is one of the Bulgarian coast’s highlights.
With two superb beaches, a genial atmosphere and good transport links, it has
long been a popular seaside resort and makes an excellent base for exploring
the area. It is also home to the modern and designed Blu Bay Hotel Sozopol.
The hotel is perfectly located in
Sozopol’s Old Town, next to the Marina, only a 5-minute walk away from the
nearest sandy beach. Its calm and cozy atmosphere offers an outdoor pool and a
sun terrace with stunning sea views. Location is one of the biggest advantages
we have enjoyed during our weekend stay. It was very easy and convenient to
commute to Sozopol from the Bourgas airport which is only 22 km away.
The guest may choose from three
types of accommodation: double room with a sea view, double room, and
apartment. The spacious air-conditioned rooms are fully-equipped with a
flat-screen LED TV with satellite channels, laptop-size safe, free coffee
machine, a variety of items in the minibar and stylish bathrooms with natural
toiletries. Most rooms offer panoramic sea views while the others face the
garden. Free high-speed Wi-Fi connection and USB wall socket is available in
each room.
Our room featured a private
balcony with sun chairs therefore we could sunbathe straight there instead of
going to the rooftop pool. If you feel like you are a more active person, then
head to the fitness centre which is in the basement and opt for a massage afterwards
which is available upon request. The SPA allows you deeply relax, away from
your worries and your busy schedule. All you need is warm water, relaxing nice atmosphere,
quiet music and silence.
Another highlight of our stay was
the dining. Blu Bay’s guests have the delightful opportunity to enjoy Azahar
Restaurant - a contemporary on-site Spanish cuisine restaurant offering food, drinks and glass of wine in the evening. Breakfast
buffet is served from from 8:30 until 11:00 and offers a variety of hot and
cold choices such as pastries, fresh fruit and vegetable, local products and
many more.
During my professional career I
have visited many hotels around the world but what makes Blu Bay Hotel stands
out is not only the impeccable design and location but also highly professional
and well- trained staff aiming to satisfy and service the guests at any time
and comply to every need or desire they may have for a pleasant stay. I have
also enjoy the navy décor fitting well with the overall atmosphere and location
right on the seafront.
Towards the end of your stay, you
are caught thinking you would like to stay here forever. If you simply cannot,
at least try to enjoy it for the days you are being here and let everyone else
