Forced to find a quick place to stay in Bangkok but most importantly escape the recent floods, HI Residence in Bangkok proved to be a right choice. Located a bit further from the downtown but still easily reached by taxi (around 80 thai baht); it is a nice boutique hotel/apartment residence with jacuzzi pool and rooftop restaurant. Do not forget to take into consideration the inclusive breakfast buffet as well as the wireless throught the hotel, guests will definitely enjoy their stay in there.
Marina Sand Bay is a recent addition not only to Singaporean skyline but also to its Marina Bay area. Located right across the Merlion Park, its design and roof top area reminds everyone deck of a ship. If you take an elevator to the very top, you will find yourself in relaxing area with infinity pool and sun chairs. It is defnitely worth visiting both during day and night as the view from there is amazing. If you are in a mood, do not hesitate to check out its upscale skybar with modern hip disco and enjoy sipping coctail like both Singaporean and Westerns do :)
During my recent visit to Malaysia, I was fortunate enough to spend few days in Kuala Lumpur. This amazing cosmopolitan city is the right place where East meets West. You will be enchanted my the mixture of different cultures such as Muslim, Indian, Malay and Western :)
If you have been lucky enough to have few spare days in Bangkok, do not forget check out some of the city's best rooftop bars. Vertigo is located @ Banyan Tree Hotel in Silom area of Bangkok. This amazing bar and restaurant located on the 61st floor offers an amazing view of entire Bangkok and the breeze feels great after typical humid day in Bangkok. It is open daily and the dress code is rather smart casual, close shoes for men is must otherwise you may not be permitted to enter.
The prices are bit upscale but considering its location, this should not surprise you too much. Expect to pay around 250-350 Thai Baht for coctails, around 450 Baht for glass of wine and etc. Have enough money around? Do not hesitate to dine & wine in its restaurant which offers 5-course dinner including wine.
Despite its location in Long Island City-Queens Z Hotel turned out to be a great choice during my recent visit to New York City. Newly opened hotel offers amazing view of entire Manhattan from each of its room, features roof top bar and its located in close proximity of Queensbridge.
