The entire pandemic situation kept us dreaming about winter ski holidays for so long that when it´s finally here, we are so excited to show you the best of it. Today´s review will have a close look into Saalbach Hinterglemm Leogang Fieberbrunn Ski Circuit which is home to some of the best ski places in Salzburg province. You can enjoy here downhill skiing on more than 270 kilometers of slopes, go tobogganing, skibobbing or even curling. After a full day of activities, investigate the resort’s nightlife scene, with options ranging from cozy cabins to lively clubs.

The resort is comprised of four villages, Saalbach, Hinterglemm, Leogang and Fieberbrunn which are linked by lift systems and ski buses. Saalbach, the livelier and more picturesque is dominated by the towering steeple of its old church. Wander along Saalbach’s streets, lined with quaint chalet-style buildings. Stop for a traditional meal of kasnocken, small pasta dumplings with cheese and onions, or kaiserschmarrn, a shredded, caramelized pancake.


How does the perfect day look like?

In the morning head to the Kohlmais cablecar near Saalbach’s church and ride to the top of the ridge to see gorgeous panoramic views of the surrounding mountains. From here, ski back to the village on 3-kilometer run, which is perfect for advanced and intermediate level skiers. During lunch enjoy some quality time in Austrian famous cabins, try mulled wine or kasespatzle and try to rest your legs while you can because the afternoon is filled up with plenty of skiing.

After lunch, take a chance to explore more of this wonderful resort by going up with the Schattberg X-epress and Sprinter and ski down to the village of Hinteglemm. Overthere you find plenty of options for both beginner and more advanced skier. The cable car, gondola and lifts cover several km of perfect ski service. And we even got some powder during out winter getaway.


How to get here?

A shuttle bus will take you from Salzburg Airport to Saalbach Hinterglemm Leogang Fieberbrunn Ski Circuit. If you’re coming by car, many hotels at the resort offer parking. There are also several garages on the outskirts of town. The reason to come is definitely the innovative interconnected lift, scenic hiking trails and buzzing nightlife.
