Kempinski San Lawrenz, Malta

For such a small island, Gozo packs in a wide variety of experiences and attractions. Travelling history fans should not miss the megalithic temples, fortress and compact capital of Victoria. Mountain biking, kayaking and clifftop hiking are all opportunities for active visitors, while Gozo's food and wine scene focuses strongly on fresh local produce and briny-fresh seafood. While Malta can sometimes feel busy and crowded, sleepy and laid-back Gozo offers the perfect opportunity to breathe out and relax.

Surrounded by 30.000-m² gardens, Kempinski Hotel San Lawrenz provides a perfect getaway for travelers seeking for travelers desiring privacy and recreation. Built to architecturally fit into the limestone surroundings, the hotel is only a 15-minute drive from Gozo Ferry Terminal for departures to Malta. The entire journey from door to door / airport to the hotel takes approximately 2 hours and Kempinski Hotel can take care of it upon your request  Free parking is also available at the property therefore you can easily rent the car and drive all the way to the hotel.

This hideway resort is designed to accommodate everyone´s need and provides the highest levels of service, comfort, and style. It features 137 elegant rustic rooms and suites as well as a range of distinctive dining venues for all occasions and tastes. Its authentic Ayurveda Centre is one of the largest in the Mediterranean offering a variety of therapies and cures and, at Kempinski The Spa, a wide choice of wellness treatments is available.

During our stay, we were upgraded to the junior suite room overlooking the pool and garden area. Located in the south wing, these recently refurbished suites offer harmonious living in spacious surroundings with a modern interior, a separate lounge area, a well-appointed marble bathroom with a bathtub and a separate walk-in rain shower. We loved the view of the pool and its surrounding as well as the opportunity to chill on the balcony after the dinner.

Dining plays a special role at Kempinski Hotel San Lawrenz where you can enjoy diverse culinary world at L'Ortolan, Trattoria San Lawrenz or Il-Baldakkin Lounge and experience al-fresco dining at grill & fish restaurant Gazebo. Unfortunately, due to the Covid-19, in July only L´Ortolan and Il-Baldakkin Lounge were opened. Nevertheless, we enjoyed a mixture of antipasti featuring Gozo famous cheese and sausage as well as delicious veal ragu pappardelle. All to complete the perfect evening with a glass of cocktail and soak in the relaxing ambiance.

Your day at Kempinski can be filled with variety of activities; you can head to one of the three pools available at the property, splash around and have a light lunch or snack on the terrace. If you are more a beach person, take an advantage of courtesy bus which will take you the either Marsalfron or Ramla beach. We would personally recommend the Ramla one as it is wide spread with lots of kiosks and orange sand. Family is also not left beside; the kids can spend their time in kids club with guidance and entertainment program from 10 am to 5 pm.

Do not forget to boost your personal health and well-being with luxurious spa massages and ayurvedic treatments. Extending over 1,700 sqm, the indulgent retreat is equipped with 10 spa and 6 traditional Ayurveda treatment rooms, two heated indoor pools, an indoor jacuzzi, relaxation areas and a steam chamber. Kempinski The Spa & Ayurveda Centre, is the ideal place to bring equilibrium to your body, mind and soul.
